Manon Kappelhof
Manon first got in touch with acute ischemic stroke research at age 20 through dr. Marquering and prof. dr. Majoie at the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam. After her bachelor thesis, she worked as a student for the MR CLEAN trial, contributed to two studies on carotid artery pathology, and presented her MR CLEAN substudy on carotid artery pseudo-occlusions at the European Stroke Organization Conference 2016. She wrote her master thesis under supervision of dr. Marquering and prof. dr. Majoie again and started her PhD the day after officially graduating on September 1st, 2017.
For the upcoming four years, her research will focus on radiological analyses to support acute ischemic stroke treatment choice, working from the AMC in Amsterdam. She takes over the responsibilities within the MR CLEAN Registry from Ivo Jansen.
